We were thrilled to be asked to help mark the launch of the new Penguin Modern series. In addition to producing a custom tokyobike for the occasion we hosted an exclusive book club event exploring three beguiling Japanese short stories:

Behind the Prison by Nagai Kafu
Closet LLB by Uno Koji
General Kim by Akutagawa Ryunosuke

Sam from Penguin was joined on the panel by the brilliant Jay Rubin, translator of Haruki Murakami's novels and Junko Takekawa from the Japan Foundation. The evening started and finished with superlative sake cocktails created by Dalston's finest bar, Shep's.
