The AA Stool series, designed by Torafu Architects, features a simple design made from standard 26 x 90mm timber. Two pieces combine to form a single stool in an 'A shape' but they can also be separated and used individually in small spaces or for surprise guests. When placed side by side they can become a bench, creating a small, public space in the neighborhood or a place of leisure in the home.

Ishinomaki Laboratory

Founded in 2011 in response to the Great East Japan Earthquake, ISHINOMAKI LABORATORY was established to support the recovery of Ishinomaki City. Led by architect Keiji Ashizawa, a team of passionate designers collected repair tools and timber to create a public DIY space, encouraging community creativity and self-reliance. They later expanded into designing and producing furniture, launching the brand “Ishinomaki Koubou,” which promotes handmade craftsmanship both locally and internationally.
