Campfire Weekends

The bank holiday arrived with perfect weather - hot, clear, and reason enough to leave the city behind for a few days.

Bags packed light but with everything needed, with a stop at the fishmonger and a local farm shop for fresh food and cold drinks before heading out into the countryside with no particular hurry.

Once out of the city, the pace changes on its own - seeking shade on quieter roads, taking the longer way when it felt right, the kind of riding where the journey matters as much as the destination. *Sneak peek of new bike model launching soon...

Camp set up and fire going, cooking over open flame takes a little patience but that's fine, there's nothing else to be getting on with - just the smell of smoke, something good in the pan, and a drink close by.

As the afternoon turned to evening the sky shifted through its usual range, the clouds catching the light differently each time you looked up, and the fire changing colour without anyone noticing exactly when.

Out on Saturday, back on Monday, just enough time to remember what it feels like to slow down.
