Ride in Kanazawa

Kanazawa is a historic and cultural city located on the west coast of Japan's main island, Honshu, renowned for its traditional Edo-era districts, beautiful gardens, and flourishing arts and crafts culture.

On a cool, sunny, autumn day, some of the tokyobike team set off on their bikes to explore the city. Starting at KUMU Kanazawa — where guests can rent tokyobikes — they take a quiet ride, absorbing the nature and culture thats woven together across the city. Travel like a local!

townsfolk coffee

Located in Kanazawa’s Korinbo area, this Nordic-style coffee shop offers a quiet retreat. Owner Mr. Suzuki, trained at Prolog Coffee in Copenhagen, roasts beans with rich, balanced flavour. The warm, welcoming space, furnished with Scandinavian design, blends the charm of Japan and Denmark.

In summer, enjoy iced coffee made with Townsfolk beans at KUMU Kanazawa’s 1F Tea Salon KISSA&Co.

KiKUA

A short pedal from the bustle of Katamachi leads to KiKU, an atelier and shop in Shintatemachi.

Inside a renovated Taisho-era townhouse, they create lifestyle goods and jewellery — from everyday cutlery to pieces with natural stones that uplift. You might even hear artisans at work in the back.

*Open by appointment only on Tuesdays.
