The Danche Washing Station is an organically certified facility located in Chelbessa, Gedeo, Ethiopia, operated by SNAP COFFEE, a trusted partner of Nordic Approach.

Situated at an altitude of 2,000–2,300 meters, the station sources cherries from about 400 smallholder farmers to produce high-quality coffee. The long maturation period characteristic of high altitudes results in rich sweetness and distinctive flavor.

At this station, hand-picked and carefully sorted cherries are processed using a traditional disc pulper, followed by water fermentation (48–100 hours) and density sorting. The coffee is then washed in clean water and dried on raised bedsfor 8–20 days.

“Kelloo” means “yellow” in the Oromifa language, representing a flavor profile characterized by yellow tropical fruits, peach, floral notes, and stone fruits—a mellow, sweet, and fruity taste experience.
