CIBI x tokyobike London
Nine years ago, we welcomed our friends Meg and Zenta Tanaka of CIBI to tokyobike London to celebrate the launch of their first book, CIBI — Simple Japanese-inspired Meals to Share with Family and Friends.
This October, we’re very happy to welcome them back to celebrate their new book, OSOZAI — Everyday Japanese Home Cooking, written by CIBI co-founder Meg Tanaka.
Since we last welcomed them to London, CIBI has grown from its Melbourne home to Japan, with two stores in Tokyo and, most recently, a new countryside project in Meg’s hometown of Okayama, set within a former junior-high school.
Bringing together food, design and everyday living has been at the heart of CIBI since Meg and Zenta founded it in Melbourne in 2008.
OSOZAI shares more than 80 accessible recipes for everyday Japanese home cooking — from dishes Meg grew up eating and recipes from her grandmother and mother in Okayama, to the food she now cooks for family and friends. Think kara-age, pumpkin nimono, miso butter corn and smashed cucumber salad — approachable food to cook often, share and make your own.
Join us for a relaxed evening with Meg and Zenta, with tastes from OSOZAI, drinks, books, and a selection of CIBI and Tokyobike objects.
