Makiage Shibori - Indigo Dye Workshop
Saturday 21st March, 10am - 12pm
An introduction to Makiage Shibori indigo dyeing with Kaori Yatsumoto. From the Japanese word shiboru, meaning “to wring” or “to press,” shibori is a traditional resist-dyeing technique that uses folds and bindings to create patterns. Unlike colourful tie-dye, it uses only indigo. Slow and thoughtful, each piece reveals its own character.
As well as learning more about the craft of indigo dyeing, Kaori will focus on the Makiage Shibori technique involving stitching shapes and wrapping with thread, guiding us through the process, with everyone taking home a unique bandana.
Tickets are £45 per person, available to purchase here.
