Slow Camping
A rare sunny Friday in July inspired a last minute trip to the countryside for a change of scenery and a change of pace.
After arriving at our station in the Kent countryside, there was a brief stop at a local farm store for provisions before we rolled up to our camp site. The fire was lit and a long evening of cooking, drinking and gazing ensued.
Excited to test out our new camping gear, we spent time thinking about how best to cook our ingredients. The evening was filled with culinary experiments and the joy of outdoor cooking.
The next morning, waking up with a slight hangover, we cooked noodles from our UL Bento, a delightful souvenir from Japan. We enjoyed a slow, relaxed morning, taking our time to fully wake up. A freshly brewed cup of coffee set the perfect tone for the day ahead.
We ventured out for a hike in the local area, soaking up the beautiful scenery. A stop at a local pub allowed us to recharge before preparing our meal for the evening.
The following morning, we were greeted by a misty grey sky and gusty winds. Despite the weather, we packed up our gear and prepared for the journey home. This impromptu camping trip was a refreshing escape and a chance to enjoy the simple pleasures of life outdoors. Even with the typical British weather making a return, the experience was unforgettable.
