CIBI x tokyobike – OSOZAI Launch

Thank you to everyone who came along to celebrate with Meg and Zenta Tanaka of CIBI. It was a joy to welcome them back to Tokyobike London, nine years after their first book launch with us.

Since they were last here, CIBI has grown from its Melbourne home to Japan, with two stores in Tokyo and, most recently, a new countryside project in Meg’s hometown of Okayama, set within a former junior-high school.

Bringing together food, design and everyday living has been at the heart of CIBI since Meg and Zenta founded it in Melbourne in 2008.

OSOZAI shares more than 80 accessible recipes for everyday Japanese home cooking - from dishes Meg grew up eating and recipes from her grandmother and mother in Okayama, to the food she now cooks for family and friends. Think kara-age, pumpkin nimono, miso butter corn and smashed cucumber salad - approachable food to cook often, share and make your own.

We got to sample some favourite recipes from OSOZAI, surrounded by objects and designs from Cibi. Good food, good company and good conversation.

We asked Meg to leave us a few signed copies of OSOZAI so pop in to the store for these or add a note at checkout online if you'd like one.
